Rates

Rates vary from project to project and various factors can affect pricing. The complexity of the project and arrangements are the main variables. The more moving parts there are the more work there is for me. A simple 16-track singer/songwriter project is a very different animal than a 100+ track pop production. Also, the number of songs, my interest in the music and my schedule all play into what I can do within your budget.

If you’re interested in working with me, reach out, tell me a bit about yourself, your music and your situation. Shoot me a couple of links to rough mixes and previous releases so I can hear a bit of what you’re up to. Please mention your time frame and budget. From there we can start the conversation. If I can’t work within your budget we can discuss other possible options. Sometimes people have me mix the singles and use someone else for the rest of the songs. I may also refer you to someone in your price range.

Scheduling

Booking can sometimes be 1-2 months out, so call me sooner rather than later. I can usually accommodate singles on pretty short notice. On average I mix 1 song/day, but it can vary a lot from project to project. It’s really important that you and your band mates are responsive and available to listen to mixes during the time we’re working.

Revisions and alternate versions

I don’t charge for revisions, simple as that. I’ll print whatever alternate versions you want as well, like instrumentals, TV versions, etc. Just let me know in advance.

Mastering

I do mastering, yes. While I prefer to work with Brian Gardner, who has mastered the majority of my work over the years, not all projects can afford him or someone of a similar caliber. I am extremely picky about mastering and will push hard to make sure we take care of your music all of the way to the end, whether it’s me or someone else taking it home.

Lessons, training and consulting

I love to teach. If you want help with your engineering, arrangements, production or mixing I can help.

Jobs and Internships

I don’t have any jobs or internships available. Ever. I truly wish I had some kind of opportunity to offer up-and-coming producers and engineers, but I don’t. The lack of mentorship is a real problem in our industry, and one not easily solved.
